The spring of 2021 is different, because it is occurring amidst a pandemic we have to maintain social distancing, travel restrictions and stay indoors mostly. Due to all this the designers have been scratching their heads and trying to figure how does fashion fit amidst with this new normal? Can they design spring clothes like they use to Pre Covid-19?
Can our existing spring clothes ever leave our wardrobe and see the day light?
When will the quarantine end? What will our post quarantine wardrobe look like?
Well too many questions to answer lets see what the designers have to say about spring trends of 2021.
After track pants and jogger suits were at the peak of trend in 2020. Oversized jackets to light weight knit wear and tom boyish trousers seems like to go to choices for designers as they had to keep in mind the work from lifestyle of the masses.
As pandemic has continued to destroy the fashion industry with bankruptcies, store closure and over stocked warehouses, most of the brands are focusing on trends and garments that can sell in this economic down time.
Most of the Fashion shows from Milan to Paris revolve around theses fashion trends of spring 2021.
Black Face Mask
Let’s first talk about the need of the hour. There is no running away from these face mask until the pandemic is over and no one know when will that happen so we might as well do it with style.
These sleek black face mask go with almost every outfit you own in your wardrobe and they offer great protection and coverage as well.
Opt for fabric which are soft and have little bit sheen as well. You can also choose an embellished mask if you feeling fancy.

Tracksuits
Big fashion labels like Tom Ford and Rodarte drifted away a little from their usual glamorous clothes into more wearable and relatable pyjama sets and track pants made in satin keeping the public demand in this pandemic in mind.
While Mui Mui and Hugo boss showcased athletic tracksuits in the biggest colour trends of spring/ summer 2021. The models looked stunning in the hues of navy, sky and royal blue.
Graphic tees
You hear graphic tees and you think of street style clothing and now one might wonder how can graphic tees be a part of a runway trend?
Well in between and unsure lockdown and racial discrimination protest and globally spread political unrest graphic tees with important messages took on a very new importance.
Graphic tees came with a messages like “Vote” and “Save the earth” Chanel dug into the archive and mixed graphic tee with 80’s fashion and came up with neon graphic of their iconic “C” and “No.5”
Bralettes or Bra tops?
After going for month’s bra less, it was a task wearing our Bras again on a daily basis. Perhaps this trend was designed to prove it to others that “Yes we can still wear our Bra’s”
Anyways jokes apart! In 2021 Crop tops are history Bra tops have taken their place. This year designers re worked on simple Bras in a very imaginative and creative way. Pairing Lace bras with over coats and oversized jackets and flared pants, designer have given us a new formal look.
Pace Rabanne Styled their model in a classic French girl look with a lacy black bra with flared leather pants and a leather over coat.
Some designer dared to show some skin on the runway with the models mid riff showing from their button opened over sized blazers, some of then opted for layered looks to hide those

The cardigans have become a huge hit again for spring 2021 mainly because these oversized tops feel perfectly comfortable for a stay at home work day.
Designers opted work light weight fabrics like cashmere for their chunky sweaters. These can be worn as a top with pants or skirt or an over sized chic of course no pants needed in this dress if worn correctly. Versace came up with a cropped cardigan which looked absolutely sexy.
Flip Flops
Uncomfortable heels are a yesterdays stories, this season designers are embracing the new normal casual lifestyle in every clothing and accessories they are presenting.
Flip flops feels more appropriate to our casual lifestyle. Designers still added a touch of glamour to these basic flip flops by some studs and glamour to them. Stella McCartney played with the proportions with push padding in a sporty style.
Flip flops are the most essential accessories of 2021 according to brands like Balenciaga and Rosetta Getty as they can be worn outdoors as well as indoors.
Over sized Jackets
You can create a long silhouette and play with shapes as well with these oversized jackets inspired by 80’s fashion.
You can pair these jacket with sleek pants or a leather shorts and some sneakers for an ultra chic look.
The colours that work beautifully with this jackets are neutrals, charcoal greys and powder blues.
XL shirts
Well if you thought it is only the blazers that can be oversized and in trend think again!
After oversized blazers it the turn for oversized shirts. Now I know you might be wondering aren’t they called borrowed shirts or boyfriend or dads shirts?
But I am here to tell you get out of this Cliché thinking.
Let this XL shirt be your and yours alone.
The idea is being comfortable, since we have gotten so use to it all of 2020. Wear these shirts as it is and keep it breezy or put a belt around your waist showing off the curves. You could also tuck it in with jegging keeping the top two buttons open and making it a boat neck.
